FROM THE BRONX TO THE DMV
DJ ROB-LOE
Born and raised in the Bronx, DJ ROB-LOE discovered his calling as a child when he slipped into a neighborhood schoolyard jam and saw Grandmaster Flash working two turntables while Melle Mel, Keith Cowboy, and Kid Creole moved the crowd. The sound was new, the energy was electric, and Rob knew he wanted to become a DJ.
He saved for his first equipment, taught himself the craft, and sharpened his ear by recording local jams, studying other DJs, and practicing every day. What began at neighborhood parties grew into campus events, fraternity and sorority celebrations, graduations, and homecoming parties while attending Morgan State University.
Rob later became the primary DJ for Reflections of Morgan, performed at Howard University's Gritz & Gravy events, and spent three years on the road as a DJ for The Source Magazine and Mountain Dew Urban Assault Grassroots Tour. After starting a family, he remained active throughout the DMV while earning his master's degree in social work and building a career serving young people and families.
Today, while completing his doctorate in Strategic Leadership, DJ ROB-LOE continues to bring decades of experience to HBCU homecomings, Greek events, corporate celebrations, weddings, and private affairs from New York to Virginia.
